I just dont tire of it.Īnd the important thing about the glitches is that they are JUST the funny sort anything that genuinely interferes with gameplay (like crashing or something causing massive slowdown or whatever) is always removed. But I've still got 70 hours or so on this game because, simply put, it's just darned fun, and there's plenty to do in it. I play mostly hardcore games myself (and I mean the nasty sorts, like Cave's bullet-hell games for instance), and I'm an adult, too.
It's not a matter of being old VS young, or being casual VS hardcore either. They like finding hilarious things to do and see, and new ways to break parts of the game. That type of player tends to be able to have fun just for the sake of having fun. That sort of player is who this game is for, and there's quite alot of gamers like that out there. Or doing the same with Skyrim (which is also buggy as all heck), simply because they find it really entertaining. And then think of the sorts of players that really enjoyed just running around and doing crazy stuff with glitches. And the bugs get CRAZY, like endless horses raining out of a tree (I didnt make that one up), that sort of crazy. Think of something like Red Dead Redemption, right? Pretty freaking buggy game. I may as well add my own explanation then: Huh, this is one of the only well thought-out, rational, non-insulting posts I've ever seen about this. To summarise, because I feel I was rambling abit in my above posts: I don't understand the popularity of the game, or how it could hold someone's attention other for the sake of random stupidy based comedy, I fear the success of this game will detract from the developement of more involved titles. My hope is that the success of this game doesn't lead to the development of similar games, or even just putting out more content into this games, when countless fans have expressed their interest in a sequel to Sanctum 2, or even more content for the Sanctum series. If it's a product they're proud of, and it's clearly made them quite a bit of cash, they would've had to have enjoyed developing the product. Words cannot express how dissapointed I was to find out that Coffee Stain Studios developed this game, but as a fan of their previous work, I have to respect them for it. "You don't like a thing that I like, therefor you're an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because my opinion means less now" etc.) It's not like my opinion matters, so don't let my lack of understanding for this game, nor my dislike for its popularity make you feel as if your own opinion is invalidated (See that ♥♥♥♥ all too common.
It's buggy as hell, unpolished, completely meme/youtube oriented, and just doesn't seem like it could hold the attention of anyone who isn't a child. As the title says, I don't get why this game is as popular as it has gotten.
